About the department

 

The Department of History and Geography was established in September 2022. Currently, he is training specialists in the educational programs of education 6B01602-"history", 6B01501 - "Geography" and 7M02-"history" in accordance with the state mandatory education standards. Since September 1, 2022, the head of the department is PhD Myrzabekov Zhambyl. 

The educational program has a qualified teaching staff that ensures the implementation of the program in the relevant fields of knowledge. Indicators on the qualitative and quantitative composition of the teaching staff of the OP correspond to the qualification requirements in history and geography (full-time, part-time teaching staff) by category, goals of the educational program being implemented, personnel policy and the program of the developed institute. 

The main resource for the implementation of the educational program 6B01602 – "History" is the teaching staff. Currently, the faculty of the OP "history" includes 3 doctors of historical sciences, 1 candidate of sciences, which is 61% of the total degree. 

The qualitative composition of the teaching staff of the educational program 6B01501 - "Geography" corresponds to its profile. The main resource for the implementation of the educational program 6B01501 "Geography" is the teaching staff. 

Currently, the faculty of the OP " Geography" includes 4 candidates of sciences, 2 masters, which is 67% of the total degree. The percentage of teaching staff degrees serving the profession over the past 5 years is 50-61%.

The Department of History and Geography prepares bachelors and masters in accordance with the state mandatory education standards for the following levels of education: 

Educational program 6B01501 - "Geography"

The purpose of the educational program is to train highly qualified geography teachers with digital competencies in the field of professional teaching and competitive in the modern labor market.

Objectives of the educational program:

- providing high-quality professional training for future geography teachers in accordance with the social order of society and international educational standards.

- formation of a system of basic, general professional, professional competencies in the context of the updated content of education.

-mastering the methods of physical, spiritual and intellectual self-development, formation of psychological literacy, culture of thinking and behavior.

- solving complex multi-level tasks, improving teamwork and independent skills, readiness for leadership and cooperation.

A bachelor's degree graduate can hold the following positions:

The Department of History and Geography is constantly working to improve the professional qualifications of the teaching staff. Each teacher of the department annually improves their qualifications at various professional courses, seminars, and trainings. In the 2019-2020 academic year, 11 certificates were received, in the 2020-2021 academic year – 12 certificates, in the 2021-2022 academic year-more than 18, in the 2022-2023 academic year -more than 10, in the 2023-2024 academic year -more than 16 certificates. Special attention is paid to teaching English, advanced training courses on innovative teaching methods and advanced training in specialized disciplines. A number of disciplines are taught by teachers in English.

Open lessons

 

On 10/27/2023, Master of Humanities, Senior lecturer at the Department of History and Geography, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Perizat Turdaakinovna, in the discipline of Archeology, an open lesson (practical) was held at the institute level in the TAR-23-1 group "Monuments of Begaza-Dandybai culture".

The teacher noted the purpose of the lesson-to identify the monuments, sites, features and significance of the archaeological excavations of Begaza-Dandybai.

According to the cluster lesson plan, the students were divided into groups of bronze, Begazy, and Dandybai. Each group developed and defended a mock-up of archaeological excavations according to their assigned tasks.

In addition, the teacher worked with students using maps. We summarized the lesson with test questions and evaluated the students. The open lesson was attended by the head of the Department of History and Geography, J. E. Myrzabekov, Faculty of the Department, and Palli Rashidovna, "Specialist in Quality Management, Accreditation and Rating". The experts appreciated the educational and methodological equipment of the discipline, the use of innovative approaches during classes, student-oriented learning and lecture skills.

 

 

On 11/23/2023, the Master of the Department of History and Geography of the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the International Taraz Innovation Institute named after Sh.Murtaza, teacher Tokbayeva M.N. held a seminar on the discipline "Regional Studies" on the topic "General characteristics of the mainland of North America. The History of the discovery and exploration of America" in the TAR-20-1 group, an open lesson was held at the faculty level (practice).

The purpose of the lesson is to work out and deepen knowledge of the North American chapter, develop thinking and memory, reveal interest in the subject, to create independent and creative work. The lesson achieved its goal according to plan.

According to the tasks assigned to them, the students made a map of North America using the puzzle method, characterized and defended the mainland countries. We summed up the lesson using the Kahuta method and evaluated the students. The open lesson was attended by the head of the Department of History and Geography, J. E.Myrzabekov, faculty member of the Department, and Palli Rashidovna, a specialist in quality, accreditation and rating management. Innovative methods were used in the lesson, and a high level was passed.

On 11/24/2023, an open lesson on the history of Kazakhstan was held at the institute level with students of the Sht-23-1 group on the topic "Implementation of the Soviet model of state construction".

During the lesson, he was shown to be a highly qualified specialist with cultural and professional competencies using updated educational and innovative pedagogical technologies. The open lesson was held at a very high level.

K. open lesson (lecture) on the discipline "Economic and social Geography of Kazakhstan" on the topic: "Population, growth dynamics and composition of the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan" has passed.

During the lesson, I discussed in more detail the stages of the formation of the people of Kazakhstan as a multinational. He revealed the stages and reasons for the settlement of different peoples in the Kazakh steppe, the influence of each arriving population on the local Kazakh population. She explained the reasons why the resettled population under the USSR came to Kazakhstan and settled the territories and their farms.

In the lesson, the direction of population migration was shown using a map. The purpose and objective of the lesson is given by the slide.

The lesson was held at a good, high level.

International Taraz Innovation Institute named afterSherkhan Murtaza at the Department of History and Geography of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, 6B01501-Geography, 6B01602-History, a conference on the opening of practice was held with students of the 2,3,4 courses of the educational programs "psychological and pedagogical", "educational pedagogical", "pedagogical". The supervised teachers familiarized the students with all the necessary documents and methodological instructions for the organization of practice.

During the internship, events were held to increase students' interest in the profession, establish a link between theoretical knowledge and practice, provide recommendations for monitoring and analyzing psychological and pedagogical knowledge in various conditions of human activity, expand pedagogical horizons, and familiarize students with the course of the internship program.

 

 

A practical lesson on the "dual education" system was conducted with students of the 3rd year of the educational program 6B01501-"Geography" under the guidance of the teacher of the school No. 3 D. Tlegenova. Combining theory and practice, the students expanded their knowledge. I conducted classes with the Geo 21-1 group on the subject "methods of teaching geography" for 6th grade students.
