The faculty has more than 60 teachers, including 1 professor, candidate of economic sciences, 20 candidates of sciences and 3 PhDs.
All conditions are created for students to study: modern classrooms, specialized laboratories, a large library, gym, gym, dormitory, dining room, etc. There are various scientific circles at the faculty. Students regularly participate in competitions in their specialties, which are held at the national level.

Date and facts
History of the Faculty:
The Faculty of Economics and Business was established in 2009. When it was first created, it was named the Faculty of Economics and Law. The first dean of the faculty was Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Asabai Kaltai Arynovich.
In 2018, due to structural changes, the faculty was renamed Economics and Business.
Since 2020, the Faculty of Economics and Business has been headed by PhD, Associate Professor Kuatbekov Zharas Alpysbayevich. The faculty consists of two departments: Department of Economics and Management and Department of Finance and Accounting.
Students:
The educational programs of the Faculty of Economics and Business are in high demand among applicants in the region. Over the past three years, the quality and content of these programs have improved. Currently, the faculty has over 350 students, including 1 recipient of a state educational grant, 3 recipients of the “Qazaqstan Halqyna” grant, and 1 student awarded a rector’s grant. The faculty also includes winners of international Olympiads, competitions, and scientific project contests.
The faculty hosts international students from countries such as Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as from various regions of Kazakhstan: West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, Mangystau, South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Turkestan, Almaty, and Aktobe regions.
Faculty Members:
The Faculty of Economics and Business employs approximately 30 professors and lecturers, including 3 PhD holders, 2 Doctors of Science, more than 10 Candidates of Science, and over 10 Master's degree holders. Currently, one faculty member is pursuing a doctorate.
Major Events:
On April 7, 2023, the International Taraz Innovation Institute named after Sherkhan Murtaza held the Republican Business Startup Project Competition "Areket – 2023" among university and college students.
The purpose of the competition was to identify creative ideas by engaging students in entrepreneurship and introducing them to new innovative concepts while enhancing their financial literacy.
As part of this event, mentors and jury members included leaders of government agencies responsible for entrepreneurship development, well-known entrepreneurs, and prominent figures from the region.
The competition was conducted in two stages:
-First stage – Qualifying round (until March 20, 2023, 18:00): To determine the most relevant projects, applications were submitted to the Faculty of Economics and Business named after Sh. Murtaza. A total of 100 project applications were received, of which 50 advanced to the second stage.
-Second stage – Final round (April 7, 2023, 10:00): This stage consisted of project presentations and awarding of winners. The event was held offline at the institute. Based on the competition results, the best teams won prizes and received awards.

"Production and Sale of Microgreens" team (Aktobe Region).
"Development of a Virtual Kindergarten Website" team (E. Buketov Karaganda State University, Karaganda Region).
"EcoAlem" team (International Taraz Innovation Institute named after Sherkhan Murtaza, Taraz).
Employment:
The employment rate of faculty graduates is 70%.
