About the faculty
The Faculty of pedagogy trains modern school teachers in educational programs of Pedagogical Sciences. The faculty consists of 3 departments. The list of educational programs prepared by our faculty: "preschool education and upbringing", "pedagogy and psychology", "pedagogy and methods of Primary Education", "Kazakh language and literature", "Foreign Language: two foreign languages (English-Chinese, English-Korean, English-Turkish)".
The scientific potential of our faculty is high. 60 highly qualified teachers will give lectures here, including 4 doctors of science, professors, 1 PhD, more than 17 candidates of science, associate professors. Teachers of our faculty actively conduct scientific and educational work, as well as conduct an interesting, informative, creative educational process. In addition, research work is carried out with students.
Our faculty has established contacts with various language, educational and research centers, higher educational institutions in the near and far abroad. It cooperates with universities from abroad: Poland (Lodz University), South Korea (Kennam National University of Science and Technology), China (ili Pedagogical University of China) and other CIS countries. In order to develop students ' scientific and creative abilities, the faculty operates scientific circles.
These are the Literary Association named after zh.Balasagun, the circles "educator-gardener", "teacher-psychologist", "Pai-Pai Kazakh kelinderi-AI", "Chinese language", "I can speak Turkish", "Korean language". The material and technical base of the faculty meets modern requirements, the classrooms are equipped with information systems of technology, there are 2 computer classes, 2 language rooms, more than 10 classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards.Students arriving from other cities are provided with dormitories.
The Faculty of pedagogy is a real workshop for teaching language and literature, the art of words and culture. The knowledge and experience gained here allows students to express themselves and develop their personality, contribute to the disclosure of their creative potential in a changing world.

Faculty History:
The "Pedagogy" Faculty was established in the second half of the 2020-2021 academic year due to the structural changes of the "Education" Faculty. The faculty employs 64 professors and teaching staff, including 2 PhDs, 4 doctors of science and professors, and 22 candidates of science and associate professors. Our faculty members participate in scientific projects and publish research results in domestic and international journals. For example, in 2022-2023, A.E. Botabaeva, Zh.T. Sarybekova, A.S. Kurmanbekova, R.S. Yelubayeva, and others published articles in journals indexed in the Scopus database.
In 2020, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor T.K. Boleev participated in the grant funding competition of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MSHE RK) with his scientific project and won. The project topic: IRNAR09259839 "Psychological profiling and organization of a correction system for adolescents' suicidal behavior" (02.05.2021 - 30.12.2023). In 2023, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor A.E. Botabaeva participated in the MSHE RK grant competition with her scientific project and passed two stages. The project topic: "Scientific and methodological foundations for developing teachers' innovative thinking skills." Additionally, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor R.S. Yelubayeva participated in this competition with her project and advanced to the third stage. The project topic: "Formation of future specialists' spiritual and leadership competencies based on the works of Sh. Murataza: Development of the 'Sherhan.kz' pedagogical platform."
Our professors and teaching staff undergo professional development in leading universities of Kazakhstan and abroad. From December 14-19, 2023, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Ademi Yerkebayevna Botabaeva and Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Rakhat Saylaubekovna Yelubayeva completed an international professional development course on "Modern Trends in Education. Inclusive Teaching Methods" at Halic University in Istanbul. Faculty members also participate in online internships. For instance, in the 2023-2024 academic year, A.E. Botabaeva, R.S. Yelubayeva, G.O. Akynova, N.A. Fatikova, R.E. Azhibayeva, A.T. Isametova, A.D. Tadzhikova, and A.K. Abaeva completed an internship in the Czech Republic. Additionally, faculty members attend international symposiums and conferences abroad, exchanging experiences with foreign colleagues, including at the Turkish-German University, Gazi University, Samarkand State Institute, and the Nevsky Institute of Language and Culture (Russia), among others. The knowledge and qualifications gained by the faculty are effectively applied in our institute’s educational and training processes.
As proof of this, in the 2022-2023 academic year, 54 students graduated from the faculty with honors diplomas. Our graduates also demonstrated excellent results in the National Qualification Testing and obtained the "Pedagogical Internship" certificate. Additional classes for obtaining the "Pedagogical Internship" certificate start annually in October.
In the 2024-2025 academic year, the "Nevsky Institute of Language and Culture" (Russia) is developing the educational program (EP) "Training of English and Russian Language Teachers," with the head of the "Foreign Languages" department, Nurmanaliyeva U.T., responsible for the program's development.
On March 30-31, 2023, the Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz Innovative Institute hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "The Formation of Children's Literature History and the Current Issues of Philological Science in the Era of New Kazakhstan," dedicated to the 65th anniversary of Mendiabai Abilov, a member of the Kazakhstan Writers' Union, professor of the Academy of Management (Pavlodar), and Candidate of Philological Sciences.
On April 4, 2023, in honor of Science Day, the "Kazakh Language and Literature" department of the Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz Innovative Institute held a faculty-wide scientific and practical conference among students of the "Pedagogy" faculty on the topic "PHILOLOGICAL SCIENCE: YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW."
On April 5, 2023, the "Kazakh Language and Literature" department of the Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz Innovative Institute organized a faculty-wide subject Olympiad on the "Kazakh Language" under the title "Linguist-2023."
On November 24-25, 2023, the Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz Innovative Institute hosted an International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Current Issues in Translation Studies in the Era of New Kazakhstan: Research History, Theory, Formation, and Development," dedicated to the anniversary of Marzhan Toregulkyzy Kozhaeva, a distinguished specialist in the field of Translation Studies, Candidate of Philological Sciences, and Associate Professor.
On December 6, 2023, the Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz Innovative Institute, the "Pedagogy" faculty, and the "Kazakh Language and Literature" department organized a regional essay competition titled "The Bright Star of Kazakh Literature – Magzhan Zhumabayev," dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Alash Movement figure and poet Magzhan Zhumabayev.
In the 2022-2023 academic year, the textbooks, study guides, and educational-methodological materials written by the faculty of the "Pedagogy" department are as follows:
-The textbook "Pedagogy of Higher Education" written by Ademi Erkebayevna Botabaeva for master's students was recommended for publication by the decision of the Educational-Methodological Association of the Republican Educational-Methodological Council of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Protocol No. 5, 27.10.2022).

Learners:
The faculty's educational programs are in demand among applicants. In recent years, the number of students has been increasing. Currently, about 1,500 students are studying at the faculty, including 42 grant holders, among them 1 recipient of the state educational grant, 83 recipients of the "Kazakhstan Khalkyna" grant, and 33 recipients of the rector's grant. Students have the opportunity to study under academic mobility programs in other cities of Kazakhstan and leading foreign universities in accordance with the "Bologna Process" requirements. The faculty hosts international students from Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and other countries, as well as students from various regions of Kazakhstan, including West Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan, Mangystau, Turkistan, Kyzylorda, Almaty, and others.
Student Achievements:
Our students participate in symposiums, Olympiads, "Sherkhan Readings" competitions, and international conferences with their research projects both in Kazakhstan and abroad. For example, in 2022, students from the "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" educational program participated in the 7th International Student Symposium in Samarkand, held at Samarkand State Institute, and won prizes. This year, on December 2, students of the "Kazakh Language and Literature" and "Primary Education Pedagogy and Methodology" educational programs from the 3rd and 4th courses participated in the 8th International Student Symposium at the same institution in an online format with two projects.
In 2022, 2nd-year student Kenes Aruzhan from the "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" program was recognized as the winner of the best essay in the national competition "Kazakhstan of My Dreams."
Startup projects are being implemented at our institute. Notably, 4th-year students of the "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" program developed the "New STEP Project" and "Jazy'-LAT" projects. They participated online in the “Kemel Kasipker” business case-solving championship organized by the "AlmaU" School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation on December 12, 2022. Among 13 teams, they ranked in the top six and received an invitation to the annual entrepreneurial competition "Entrepreneurial MeetUp" in Almaty, held from January 20 to January 22, 2023.
The faculty frequently organizes meetings and seminars for students with well-known and experienced educators and employers in the region. For example, on September 29, 2023, in honor of Teacher's Day, a discussion titled "The Unique Path of a Teacher" was held. The event was attended by the institute’s professors, students, and distinguished individuals from the region who have dedicated their lives to the teaching profession.
