About the center
In 2021, the laboratory "Aquaculture and Aquatic Bioresources" was opened at the International Taraz Innovation Institute. 33 million tenge has been allocated to the university for the proper organization of the scientific work of the laboratory.
The purpose of the laboratory is not only to carry out research activities, but also to implement innovative educational programs for the training of highly qualified specialists in the fisheries industry. The program is aimed at government and non-government actors in the fisheries industry. In addition, the participants offer most of the jobs in the industry.
For the Zhambyl region, the formation of economically efficient, competitive clusters in the fisheries sector is one of the key areas of the long-term development strategy. In this regard, courses in the field of "fisheries" are conducted under the state program "Enbek". Contracts are concluded with the fisheries management institutions of the region. A biological justification of fish-breeding lakes has been developed. Fish farming and biological justification assess the possibility of increasing fish farming in lakes.
The laboratory is currently conducting the following studies:
1. physical and geographical characteristics
2. morphometric data of the reservoir: the state of the coastline, the area, the largest and predominant length, width and depth, the nature of the water bottom.
3. The presence of hydraulic structures, their condition, the presence of fish protection devices, the possibility of full or partial discharge of water. The scheme of the reservoir must be attached to the plan of hydraulic engineering and fish protection facilities, as well as the lands adjacent to the reservoir.
4. the hydrological regime of the reservoir (general level regime, water exchange, volume of water, level actuation (there must be a change in the water level in the reservoir from evaporation and irrigation), features of the passage of spring flood waters).
5. chemical composition of water (gas regime, active reaction of the medium, salt content).
6. assessment of biological productivity of a reservoir.
