About the department
The Department of Foreign Languages was established in September 2009. Currently, the department employs 20 teachers, including: Doctor of Philology, Professor -1, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences – 5.
From the 2022-2023 academic year, the head of the department is Ultay Tlegenovna Nurmanalieva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences.
The department has established partnerships with a number of leading domestic and foreign higher educational institutions to enhance the scientific potential of the faculty, research topical issues of foreign languages and methods of teaching foreign languages, in particular, with the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, E.A. Karaganda University named after Boketov, International Kazakh-Turkish University named after H.A.Yasavi, M.H.Dulati Taraz Regional University, including St. Petersburg. (Russia) A partnership has been established with the Nevsky Institute of Language and Culture, currently it is planned to create university content with educational programs, participate in the activities of scientific organizations, open an online department, develop an educational program for bachelor's degree programs in Russian and Chinese, as well as exchange student experience under the academic mobility program of the Ministry of Education and Culture, joint research projects of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Today, problem solving, trainings, brainstorming, heuristic conversation, business games, small group work, project training, critical thinking development, additional educational technologies such as Activstudio, Excel, Course Lab, Padlet, are used in the training of educated, highly qualified and competitive specialists who speak three languages at the same time. Microsoft Power Point, British Council, LinguaLeo podcasts, educational films, video clips, excerpts from animated and feature films, All teachers are preparing to train a new type of student researcher.
THE DEPARTMENT'S MISSION
The mission of the department: "Foreign languages" In case of a need to become an educated and qualified country using three languages at the same time, the development of the social and communicative function of foreign languages, participation in the formation of a highly educated, creative, competitive, multilingual, new teacher is one of the most important missions of the department.
Strategic objectives of the department:
mastering foreign languages at a professional level, providing training for digital communication teachers;
development of relations with foreign scientific organizations, higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan;
effective training and involvement of students in research work, providing the educational process with educational and methodological tools in accordance with modern requirements.
The main goal of the department's teachers is to teach students foreign languages using innovative technologies, conduct research, and learn about world cultures.
In order to implement the use of innovative and digital learning technologies in modern education, the teachers of the department are preparing electronic textbooks on foreign languages, creating content, and creating a media library. Facebook Instagram, Platonus, and Sirius platforms are also actively used. gmail.com , Wordall, Memrise, Kahoot, Padlet, etc. to improve the level of education. Through their websites, students are given interactive assignments, and in-depth and comprehensive education is activated.
