SHERKHAN MURTAZA UNIVERSITY STRENGTHENS INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION WITH ISTANBUL NIŞANTAŞI UNIVERSITY

On 23 July 2026, a delegation from Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz University held an official meeting with the leadership of Istanbul Nişantaşı University in Istanbul, Republic of Türkiye.

During the meeting, the parties held comprehensive discussions on the development of cooperation in the fields of higher education, science, innovation, and international collaboration.

The parties agreed to expand academic mobility, implement joint and dual-degree educational programmes, develop collaborative research projects, participate in Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, and TÜBİTAK programmes, organize international conferences, summer schools, and research internships, prepare joint scientific publications, strengthen cooperation in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer, as well as implement research initiatives aimed at studying the language, culture, and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world.

Following the meeting, the two universities signed a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at fostering a long-term strategic partnership.

The Memorandum provides a solid foundation for the systematic implementation of joint initiatives in education, science, and international cooperation, the development of academic exchange, the integration of scientific potential, and the implementation of international projects.

Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz University continues to expand the geography of its international cooperation and systematically develops sustainable partnerships with leading universities around the world. Strengthening cooperation with one of Türkiye's prestigious universities creates new opportunities to enhance the University's international reputation, improve the quality of education, and further develop its research and innovation potential.

The delegation of Sherkhan Murtaza International Taraz University included Gulnur Bolatbekovna Issabekova, Advisor to the President for Science and International Cooperation; Kundyz Meirkhanovna Sikhayeva, Head of the Human Resources and Document Management Department; and Olzhas Sarzhayev, PhD, Lecturer at the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature.

The meeting marked another important step in strengthening international cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye in the fields of higher education and science.
