DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES

Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the International Taraz Innovation Institute named after Sh.Murtaza was established in 2018.

The Department of Information and Communication Technologies trains specialists in 5 bachelor's degree programs and 1 master's degree program: 6B06101 - "Computer Science”, 6B06102 – "Computer Engineering and Software", 6B06103–"Information Systems and Technologies”, 6B06104 - “Computer Engineering", 6B06105 – "Computer science" and 7M01505 - "Computer Science and digital Technologies".

The purpose of the educational programs is comprehensive and high-quality training of IT specialists with high personal and professional competencies, proficient in modern methods, tools and technologies for the development, implementation and maintenance of information systems and technologies for the modern labor market.

The educational program 6B06105 – "Computer science" is a two-degree program developed jointly with the Varna Free University. Chernorizets the Brave (Bulgaria), upon completion of the program, graduates receive a diploma from the Murtaza Moscow Institute of Technology and a diploma from the Varna Free University.

The educational programs of the department have a modern scientific and technical base, the laboratories of the department 3-104 -"Programming", 3-105 -"Computer networks", 3-108 -"Organization and architecture of computer systems", 3-109 -"Computer graphics", 3-205-"Databases", 3-202 - "Laboratory of interfaces and interaction" have a modern computer technology, interactive panels, laser engraving device, 3D printers, UV printer, robotics and virtual reality tools. Along with software training, students learn through practical use of hardware and software.

To develop the professional skills and competencies of students, the IT Academy and the Drone Academy have been opened at the department, the purpose of which is to provide the most relevant and sought-after knowledge in the field of IT technologies, as well as to develop the culture of the IT movement in our region to train a critical mass of young and talented IT specialists. The IT Academy offers the following courses: Preparation for the UNT (computer science); Robotics; Graphic Design; Computer modeling (3D printing, UV printing, work on a laser device).Master classes on various topics are held.

In 2023, the institute became a partner of HUAWEI ICT Academy and Cisco Network Academy, which allowed students of educational programs to receive training and certification in the field of ICT in these global companies.Students of GOP 6B06 - Information and Communication Technologies study at the CISCO Network Academy and upon graduation receive certificates from the CiscoNetworkingAcademy, a world leader in the field of telecommunications technologies.

The department has a student scientific circle "Robotics".There is a Technical Translation club where students study foreign literature, translate from English, and improve their practical English in order to improve communication and professional effectiveness.

Taking into account the intensive development of information technology, various equipment for the laboratory base of classes, for the IT Academy and the Drone Academy is being developed annually: computers, interactive panels, software and hardware complexes, UV and 3D printers, equipment for the VR laboratory, components for robotics, drones, etc.

The Department of Information and Communication Technologies is constantly working to improve the professional qualifications of the teaching staff. Each teacher of the department annually improves their qualifications at various professional courses, seminars, and trainings. In the 2019-2020 academic year – 23 certificates, in the 2020-2021 academic year – 16 certificates, in the 2021-2022 academic year – more than 20 certificates. Special attention is paid to English language teaching, advanced training courses on innovative teaching methods and advanced training in specialized disciplines. A number of disciplines are taught by teachers in English.

The faculty of the department conducts active scientific, educational and educational work.

Work is underway to form international research teams to conduct joint innovative and scientific research.. A research project on the topic "Development of digital educational resources" is being implemented in cooperation with the Khrabry Varna Free University (Bulgaria) from 2023 to 2025.

In 2023, the Computational Life Sciences project on computer science and computer engineering is being implemented as part of the Erasmus+ program. This project aims to create an interdisciplinary, transnational master's degree program.

Within the framework of the project No.AP09259657 of the IRN for grant financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2021-23. "Research and development of an automated proctoring system for monitoring students' knowledge in distance learning", PhD M.B. Ongarbayeva conducts research work.

For 2019-2024 The faculty of the department has published 132 publications: 8 in publications with a non-zero impact factor, 10 in foreign publications, 7 in CIS countries, 16 in republican publications, 16 in domestic journals, including those recommended by the Committee for Control in the Field of Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, collections of conference materials in the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan: international-49, national – 24, 8 educational, teaching and methodical manuals and more than 30 educational and methodical complexes in elective disciplines of specialties.

To develop the professional skills and competencies of students, the Institute has opened an IT Academy, the purpose of which is to provide the most relevant and sought-after knowledge in the IT field. Since 2022, the Institute has been cooperating with Huawei Academy and Cisco Network Academy, which allows students of the department's educational programs to undergo training and certification in the field of ICT in these global companies. 

The scientific circles "Robotics" and "Technical translation" work at the department. Students annually participate in startup project competitions, scientific conferences, and apply for author's certificates based on research results. The students of the Computer Science Educational Institution are the winners of the Republican Robotics Selection Tournament "ROBOTEX KAZAKHSTAN 2024".

In 2023, the IT Academy participated in the state program "TechOrda". The program provides funding for training individuals to train IT specialists, and the IT Academy has won 11 grants to train young people in IT competencies.

The IT Academy, together with Zhambyl Hub, will hold various events with the participation of IT experts and the basics of entrepreneurship: Meetup, PitchDay, Speaddating, Speakertalks, Workshop, career guidance, etc. These events are attended by schoolchildren, college students and universities of Zhambyl region. The department annually holds a Regional "ITII HACKATHON", which is attended by school students and students of colleges and universities.

In August 2023, the Drone Academy opened, which aims to promote innovation in the field of UAV use, conduct research on improving the efficiency of drone operation and develop professional skills among students in the use of UAVs in various sectors of the economy.
