Main responsibilities

 

The Department of Academic Policy is a structural unit of the university that coordinates and methodically supports educational activities in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MSHE RK), state generally binding education standards and internal regulatory documents of the organization.

The main tasks of the Academic Policy Office include:

-ensuring the implementation of state policy in the field of higher and postgraduate education;

-coordinating and monitoring the organization of the educational process in compliance with the requirements of the MSHE RK;

-ensuring the quality of educational programs and their compliance with the State Compulsory Standards of Education, qualification requirements, and professional standards;

-providing methodological support for the implementation and development of credit-based learning technology, academic mobility, and the principles of student-centered learning;

-ensuring compliance with academic integrity principles and regulatory requirements in educational activities.

 

Main functions

 

In accordance with its assigned tasks, the Academic Policy Office performs the following functions:

-development, updating, and expert review of educational programs, curricula, academic calendars, and syllabi in accordance with the regulatory legal acts of the MSHE RK;

-organization and coordination of the educational process, including planning of academic workload, monitoring the implementation of curricula, and controlling the timelines of academic activities;

-methodological support of interim and final assessment processes of learners;

-coordination of academic mobility processes for learners and faculty members in accordance with established regulations;

-participation in internal and external quality assurance procedures, including institutional and program accreditation;

-monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements in the field of educational activities and preparation of reporting materials for management and authorized bodies;

-providing consultative support to structural units and participants of the educational process on the application of regulatory legal acts in the field of academic policy.

The activities of the Academic Policy Office are aimed at establishing a sustainable, transparent, and regulatory-compliant system for organizing the educational process, ensuring the quality of education, and aligning with the strategic priorities for the development of the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Sector "Career growth of students and graduates" alumni association

 

Works performed by the sector: 

- creation, support and development of the base of these producers, workers, partners to conclude agreements on cooperation;

- Facebook Instagram, Whatsapp, and social media, as well as university websites, are used to post job advertisements for graduates (htu.edu.kz .);

- using the enbek kz website to post graduate resumes;

- interaction with graduates of previous years on issues of satisfaction with the knowledge gained at the university and obtaining information about employers' opinions about graduates;

- acceptance of applications, consulting support of the customer's enterprises;

- carrying out work on the selection of candidates based on the assessment of individual characteristics of candidates in accordance with the requirements of the customer;

- organization and holding of trainings and seminars on relevant topics in the field of employment;

-holding events to ensure communication between graduates and employers (round tables, alumni fair, job fair).

- ensuring the participation of graduates in job fairs and announcements;

- advising graduates on management and career development, adaptation to the organization;

- research of professional, business, moral, and psychological qualities of students and graduates based on questionnaires;

- conducting a survey to identify employers' satisfaction with the level of professionalism of graduates and the quality of education at the university.

 

The Student and Graduate Career Development sector helps prepare and guide students towards building a future career. We have been working closely with students since day one to analyze employment opportunities, contact employers, and direct students to the labor market.

 

We offer students individual training sessions and identification of areas of development aimed at optimal time savings and improved employment opportunities, as well as identifying aspirations, ideas and plans.
